What's the issue?
When a Shopper chooses to pay via PayPal eCheck, the transaction doesn’t clear right away—it can take several days to settle. This creates a window where:
You may process and ship the order,
But the payment could still be canceled or fail,
Leaving you responsible for the cost of a fulfilled order.
What’s the fix?
To prevent this, we strongly recommend disabling eCheck payments in your PayPal account. This ensures that only immediate-settlement payment types are allowed like PayPal Balance or credit/debit cards.
How to disable eChecks in PayPal
Log in to your PayPal Business account
Go to Account Settings
Navigate to Payment Preferences
Select Block Payments
Enable the setting to Block eCheck payments
✅ This setting helps ensure you only receive instant payments, minimizing any risk of uncollected funds.
